SYSTEM CME PROGRAM

This page contains information on the Will/Grundy EMS System CME Program. This is for EMS Providers that are currently in the Will/Grundy EMS System as their primary System.

WILL/GRUNDY EMS SYSTEM CME PROGRAM

A new program went into effect 9/07 shifting System CME to trimester packets and testing. The tri-annual modules are more focused and each tri-test having only 30-40 questions is more manageable for the providers. This new process will offer 10 HOURS of CE PER TRIMESTER (3 hours for each month's study packet completion plus 1 hour for the test). This trimester began January 2008. January, February, March will be packet completion and study time leaving the whole month of April for testing. This process will be repeated every 4 months (May, June, July - packet completion & study time with August testing; September, October, November - packet completion/study time with December testing). Each department will receive the CE disk at the beginning of each trimester module to give to all of their providers. On the fourth month the Coordinators will be in charge of administering the test during that testing month. The agencies will have the flexibility to administer the test throughout the entire testing month whenever they choose (on each shift, on training nights, etc). The Coordinators will have to give, grade and hold onto each of the tri-tests. The System will review the test files during site visits. The Coordinator will send a report of provider compliance to the System at the end of each module’s tri-test month. The tests will still be mandatory for primary providers and 80% is the minimum passing score. The System will still suspend providers that do not complete the trimester exams by the due dates: Trimester 1 by April 30, Trimester 2 by August 31, Trimester 3 by December 31). Providers that complete all trimester's study guides and tests should receive a total of 30 hours annually.
