Silver Cross (formerly Will/Grundy) EMS System is located in New Lenox IL.

The name change came with much consideration, but with the move to the Replacement Hospital in February 2012 and the new Silver Cross branding, and the addition of another EMS System in Grundy county, it was the perfect time.

The Silver Cross EMS System is a network of fire departments, ambulance services, industrial responders, training centers, dispatch centers, and hospitals, all committed to providing the highest quality of pre-hospital patient care. Silver Cross Hospital, a 100 Top Hospitals National award winner for seven consecutive years, is the state-designated Resource Hospital for the Silver Cross EMS System and has been since the System’s inception in May of 1975. Together, Silver Cross EMS System and Silver Cross Hospital provide primary and continuing medical education, quality assurance and administrative support to our agencies and providers.

Every SCEMSS ILS provider MUST have completed the ILS SMO Update Exam by 5/31/12

Every SCEMSS BLS provider MUST have completed the BLS SMO Update Exam by 9/30/11

Every SCEMSS ALS provider MUST have completed the ALS SMO Update Exam by 9/30/11

There were a lot of good questions and information for and from Dr. Dave and Lonnie during the live webcast presentation of the new SMO rollout on August 25th, 2011.

Here’s the link: URL: http://web.ganconference.com/?meeting=2542558

Again, we strongly recommend all ALS, ILS and BLS providers watch this webcast in addition to using the other study materials, as it has a lot of Silver Cross EMS System-specific information in it.

Providers can watch this at their agency or at home, at any time of the day or night.  It only requires Internet access since the audio for pre-recorded sessions comes through the computer speakers, not a phone.

For any agency choosing to use the QuickTrach, check out this link:

Policies are currently under revision and will be posted here once completed.
